I was a party last night and we got onto the topic of books and I said something like "and I've a new Ursula Vernon book coming next week," and got instant responses of "oooh!" and "so do I!"

Younger offspring's year group at school (7-8yo) were asked for book recommendations this week, and his was:

N recommends "Hamster Princess: Harriet the Invincible" by Ursula Vernon. He says "It's very funny and I recommend it to people who like funny adventures. And hamsters."

Seconded. It would probably sell as well as the ones that say "I knit so I don't kill people". Especially if it had Ursula-art on it.

It looks like the chickens are discussing your book buk.
I was fortunate enough to stroke an owl this weekend. The local shopping centre had some visitors under the control of their human handlers from a local wildlife sanctuary. They were quite tolerant of being stroked by total strangers, the owls that is, not the humans!.

I'm reading the last paragraph as "Trying DIY ollas in the raised beds this year" -- am I reading that right? What are those?
